Friday, August 14th, 2020: Baltimore second baseman Alhaji Shule has fallen ill with food poisoning. Doctors say it is possible he could miss 3 days of action due to the illness.
This season Shule is swinging the bat at a .295 rate with 122 hits in 414 at-bats. To date he has hit 6 home runs, scored 60 runs and driven in 52. |

Thursday, August 13th, 2020: Dealing with injuries is part of the game and now Car Santanna of the Dodgers knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Florida Marlins while throwing a pitch. Diagnosed as back soreness, the Los Angeles (N) starting pitcher is expected to miss 3 days. Santanna was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
Santanna has made 20 starts so far this year and put up a 8-6 won-lost record with a 3.59 ERA. In 133 innings he has allowed 111 hits, walked 53 and struck out 137. |

Thursday, August 13th, 2020: New York (N) fans will be disappointed to learn that Marlon Watson suffered shoulder tendinitis while colliding with a player at a base in today's game. After the doctor informed the New York (N) Mets manager that Watson was expected to miss one week, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the first baseman could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
So far this season Watson has hit .277 with 15 home runs, 56 RBIs and and scored 39 times. |
